Description of Our CSA
FRESH LOCAL FOODS OPPORTUNITY
Where can you find fresh local vegetables such as cherry tomatoes, English cucumbers, spinach, lettuce, beets, and many more during the Winter Season?
We have the answer! Join our CSA and you will receive a weekly share of these and other fresh vegetables full of flavor and nutrients. We grow year-round in our heated greenhouses, hoop house, and outside with the use of frost blankets!!
Are you interested in eating fresh nutritious foods that you and your family will enjoy with delivery to a convenient location or picked up at our Farm? If so, we invite you to become one of Sinclair Farm's valued Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) members thereby developing a partnership between us.
As a member of our CSA you purchase a "share" (membership) for a specified length of time and, in turn, receive fresh, in season, healthy local foods on a weekly basis. You will receive local food that we grow year-round and from other small farm producers in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and other Virginia farming communities.
Your financial support is essential to the small family farm economic sustainability. In return for your support, you will receive an excellent variety of produce, fruits, and value-added local foods chosen on a weekly basis. You will also learn how your food is grown. The products, along with seasonal availability selected for your share and our on-line "A La Carte" shopping are listed under our Main menu heading on the "Current Products" page.
Additional benefits of our CSA program are that we grow year-round in our greenhouses as well as seasonally in our gardens thereby providing you with fresh vegetables during the non-traditional growing season.
The advantages of CSA membership:
- Opportunity to learn how your food is produced and who produces it.
- Enjoy fresh, local foods with excellent flavor and health benefits.
- Enjoy the convenience and variety of different foods delivered on a weekly basis.
- Weekly variety of fresh food encourages creativity and diversity in exploring different menus.
- Opportunity to support local small family farms and sustainable agriculture.
The fresh "harvested at the peak of flavor" fruits and vegetables will have a robust taste that you and your family will find pleasing, healthy, and looking forward to the coming week's share.
Is a CSA right for me?
It is important to note that we believe a CSA program is not for everyone. Some folks find that shopping from our a la carte list is a better personal decision rather than receiving our selections each week. We invite you to email us with your questions.
We realize our future success is directly linked to the quality and selection of our products along with our service to you. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and encourage your feedback.
A la Carte Shopping.
We have a growing list of items that you may buy in addition to your share or instead of your share. In other words, you may chose to only purchase from our A La Carte list as often or infrequent as you want. The items will often change with the harvest season and in some cases there will be a limited supply. Also, please note that there is a limited shopping window in order for us to have the items ready for delivery to your selected location.
The various CSA sessions, membership plans, fees, pick-up/delivery locations and times are discussed on the "Membership Options" page under our CSA menu.
Refer a Friend:
Tell your neighbors, family, friends, and co-workers about us, and if they sign up for a minimum of a 6 week Season (allowing for their selection of a "non-delivery" week) you will receive a $10.00 credit on your account as our "Thank You" for spreading the word about our CSA. This applies only to referrals who have not previously participated in our CSA and who join prior to the 5th week of the current CSA Season. Please email us with the referred member's name and we will apply the discount when they have joined and paid their membership fee.
